1 November 2026

Thank you for being part of PlayStrife.

The community-hosted online service was retired on 1 November 2026. Online login, matchmaking, multiplayer chat and hosted replay processing are no longer available. Continued hosting and maintenance are no longer sustainable.

The Discord community remains available. Thank you to every player, contributor, moderator and supporter, and to Chiprel for his work preserving a way to launch practice games.

Windows practice launcher

Download Practice.bat

1. In Steam, right-click Strife, then choose Manage → Browse local files.
2. Open the bin folder containing strife.exe. Save Practice.bat there. Preserve any existing script before replacing it.
3. Double-click Practice.bat to launch practice directly. It bypasses the normal online-login entry point.
4. To change the hero, pet, crafted items, bot difficulty or bot fill, open the script in a text editor and follow its comments. Bots are disabled by default; set DO_FILL_BOTS=true to request them.

The script was supplied by Chiprel. We checked its Windows command generation; full gameplay with the hosted backend unavailable has not yet been independently verified. Please report compatibility issues in Discord.

Support payments

Please stop any recurring Patreon or PayPal support intended for this hosted service. We are no longer asking for donations to keep it online. Removing donation links does not cancel an existing subscription; please check your payment account.
