Understanding Your Tools
Information is Power
In a game of resources like Strife, it is crucial to collect the information necessary to make good decisions. To do so, you will have some powerful tools provided by the user interface.
Hold Tab for All Your Wishes to Come True
While playing Strife, your Tab key will be your best friend. By holding it down, you can expand the UI to show more valuable information.
- Pin UI elements
- You will notice small pin boxes next to several UI elements. If you click these while holding Tab, they will remain on your screen even after you release Tab.
- Check your GPM relative to team
- Tab shows your GPM at the top of the screen. You will also see an arrow next to your GPM if you have the second highest GPM on your team, and 2 arrows if you have the highest.
- Levels
- The expanded UI gives you a quick snapshot of every hero's level. Use this information to gauge your strength relative to enemies.
- Timers for boss objectives
- In the top center you will see respawn timers for Cindara and Baldir. Plan around their availability when controlling the map.
- Enemy items and stats
- While holding Tab, you can hover over a hero to see their items and attributes. Use this information to help you make decisions with your build.
- Versatile Heroes
- Heroes are not designed for a specific role, and can be played in several different ways.
- Hotkey rebinding
- Most hotkey buttons will be highlighted in blue when you hold Tab. This indicates that you can quickly rebind them by clicking on them. This is especially useful when you acquire a new activatable item.
Understanding the Hero Plate
The hero plate houses vital information like health and mana, but also displays more advanced information when you hold Tab.
- Power
- Power, which dictates general offensive output.
- Attack DPS
- DPS for basic attacks. This is calculated from variables like Power, attack speed and base damage.
- Armor
- Armor amplifies a hero's physical damage resistance.
- Magic Armor
- Magic Armor amplifies a hero's magic damage resistance.
- Items
- You can view the icons of a hero's items in their hero plate.
Ping Communication
A quick and easy way to communicate with your teammates is to ping locations or objects. Used effectively, pings can help your team achieve excellent coordination.
- To Ping
- Hold Alt and click a location or unit to ping it. This will send a notification to your teammates.
- Context Sensitive
- Pinging an enemy hero will tell your teammates to attack it, while pinging an allied Tower will ask them to help defend.
