MOBA Veteran Guide: Strife's Unique Mechanics
Not Your First Rodeo
The information below is specifically written for players of other MOBAs who grasp the basic concepts, controls, and understand MOBAs as game of resources. If you're uncomfortable with the information presented below, please visit our Basic Mechanics guide here.
Familiar, Yet Different
For a veteran MOBA player, Strife should feel very familiar and comfortable. However, there are many mechanics that set Strife apart which should change the way you approach the game and shape a significantly different experience.
Strife's mechanics were designed from the ground up to:
- Reduce toxicity and negative behavior.
- Create more action and reduce tedium.
- Allow you to play the game intuitively and how you want to.
Key Mechanics Unique to Strife
- Shared Last Hit Gold
- Fight your opponents, not your allies. Last Hit bounties obtained from brawler and hero kills are split between contributing teammates.
- Out of Combat Regeneration
- Staying out of combat for a short period of time will significantly increase your Health and Mana regeneration, allowing you to stay near the action instead of going back to base.
- Personal Courier
- Each player has an invulnerable personal courier to automatically deliver purchased items.
- No Purchased Wards
- There are no wards for a sacrificial support to buy! Instead, on-demand vision is granted by observatories located in four locations around the arena.
- Unleash Krytos
- Defeat Cindara to gain control of Krytos for a climactic push and take the fight to your enemies.
- Versatile Heroes
- Heroes are not designed for a specific role, and can be played in several different ways.
- Power
- A universal attribute, Power, improves offensive and support output in many ways. Power is important for any hero and allows a player to "carry" a game by supporting.
Other Important Facts
- The max level is 15
- There is no denying
- You lose no gold when you die
- Recipes do not build into other recipes
- When you destroy enemy Generators (equivalent of traditional barracks), you get a massive gold bounty instead of stronger brawlers.
